Located in the beautiful Oceanside community of Parksville, just 25 minutes north of Nanaimo, Morningstar is one of the province’s most challenging and beautiful golf courses. As site of Canadian Tour’s Spring Qualifying School for six years, as well as hosting  the tour’s Morningstar Classic for three, our facility has become well know throughout the golf community across this country and internationally. The challenging 7018 yard layout also played host to the 2000 BC PGA Championship and the 2007 BCGA Amateur Championship, both of which continued to solidify our championship pedigree. With the magic of course architect & well-known designer Les Furber, the course will appeal to golfers of all abilities and remains accessible and enjoyable to everyone.

Wiith a memorable blend of terrain that starts out on links-style fairways before moving into forested areas of magnificent cedar and pine, Morningstar recently had the distinction of having two of its holes listed among the top eighteen golf holes on Vancouver Island. The seventh is a long dog leg left par four that has left a number of well known players licking their wounds on their way to securing a tour card. After negotiating the dogleg with its trio of bunkers on the corner with your tee shot, a 200 yard downhill approach to a tricky multi-tiered green will again test your long game. The par 4 twelfth is Morningstar’s signature hole as well as being a great test of ones skill. Needed is a tee shot of about 220 yards that favors the left side of the fairway, then off of a hanging lie you will be hitting a mid to short iron into a green guarded in front by a massive railway tied bunker, finishing off with a green that produces some of the slipperiest putts on the course.

Location and Driving Instructions for Morningstar Golf Course
 

Morningstar Golf Course is located between the oceanside communities of Parksville and Qualicum. Driving from Nanaimo, you can reach Morningstar by driving through Parksville on Highway 19A, turning left at French Creek on Lee Rd. and following the Morningstar signs. If you wish to bypass Parksville, we can also be reached from the Alberni Highway, turning right at the Co-op Gas Bar on Church Rd., then taking the next four lefts to our entrance on Lowry's Road.

If coming south from Courtenay, exit the Inland Highway at the first Parksville exit, turning right at the stop sign on to the Alberni Highway, and follow the instructions above via Church Rd.
